Milfoil Hand-Pulling Tests On Little Lake

  • 18 Sep 2022
  • 9:00 AM
  • Wells Lakeside Park

On Sunday, September 18th at 9 AM, members of the LSCA and LSCCF will be meeting at the Wells Lakeside Park to work on some milfoil hand pulling tests on Little Lake.

Because of the shallow depths and loose sediments in Little Lake, it is not possible for the LSCA's diver assisted suction harvesting (DASH) team to set up and work like they can in deeper areas of the lake.

So, this testing group has come up with a few ideas to experiment with to see if an effective technique can be discovered that would be feasible to implement.

One of the ideas will be using floating play mats to be able to be as close as possible to the water without actually being in the water, allowing the person to reach down and hand pull the milfoil from the loose sediment without disturbing the lake bottom.

If you have ideas, or would like to help out on the 18th, please email us at info@lakestcatherine.org - or we'll see you at the park the morning of the 18th at 9AM.

Thank you!
