LSCA's 2026 Greeter Program

21 May 2026 12:33 PM | Jerremy Jones (Administrator)

Hey there LSC.

We are happy to report that the LSCA's Greeter Program will begin staffing the Lake St. Catherine Public Access area tomorrow.

Through grants earned from the State and the LCBP & NEIWPCC, allocations from the towns of Wells & Poultney, and contributions from members and the lake community, the launch will be staffed 7 days a week through Labor Day Weekend.

With the help of recently retired Trustee and previous Greeter Coordinator John Belnavis, our new Coordinator Missy has been doing an excellent job getting ready for the season, and we have a full staff of 12 greeters.

Greeters check vessels being launched and retrieved for aquatic invasive species (AIS), working to prevent new introductions of AIS into Lake St. Catherine.

AIS not currently in LSC are already in nearby lakes, so it is critically important that vessels, trailers, and equipment are inspected, and that we all Clean, Drain, Dry, and Decontaminate to prevent the transmission of AIS. You can read more about AIS spread prevention here: https://dec.vermont.gov/watershed/lakes-ponds/aquatic-invasives/spread-prevention

Please be sure to thank our Greeters for their good work for Lake St. Catherine when you interact with them at the launch.

Thank you!
